Description
NEW 2021 – The Mercedes racing transporter “Das blaue Wunder” Bj. 1955-1967 with 300 SLR Roadster
LEGRAND 1:87 plastic model set, very detailed design and printing, filigree rims, length: 79mm
This spectacular transporter was created in 1955 at the request of the successful racing manager Alfred Neubauer, on the extended chassis of a Mercedes-Benz 300 S and with the engine of the 300 SL. For many years it was the “fastest truck in the world” and was used exclusively to transport Mercedes-Benz racing cars. From 1956, the racing transporter served as an exhibition vehicle and eye-catcher in the USA and was later scrapped. A perfect replica can be seen today in the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart.
