They were initially used for the transportation of coal, but also for other weather-sensitive goods.
The L6s were built with wooden and steel walls and with and without a brakeman’s cab.

1x wagon in wood construction with platform, spoked wheels and sleeve buffers
1x wagon in wooden design with platform, solid wheels and sleeve buffers
