Hobbytrain shunting locomotive E63 DB, green/red, Ep.III

In 1934, the Deutsche Reichsbahn ordered four C-coupled locomotives from AEG and three from BBC/Kraus Maffei. The AEG locomotives differed visually from the BBC machines by the angular and flatter front ends, were somewhat slower but had more power at 725 kW. After delivery, the locomotives were stationed in Munich and Stuttgart.
At DB, the locomotives ran in Augsburg, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Munich and Stuttgart. In 1960/61, the locomotives were extensively modernized and received shunting platforms and additional windows as well as the DB’s red paint scheme. From 1976-79, the locomotives renamed BR 163 in 1968 were taken out of service. The last locomotive is no. 163 002. E63 01 and E63 02 are still preserved as museum locomotives.

Model features:
– Bell-type armature motor with flywheel mass
– Power consumption across all axes
– Interface NEM 662 / Next18
– Light change (white/red)
– Close coupling kinematics
– Consideration of all design differences in detail
