The latest member of the Vectron family – the Vectron Dual Mode – combines the advantages of a fully-fledged diesel locomotive with those of electric locomotives. Thanks to the powerful diesel drive and the equipment for using the overhead contact line, the locomotive can react flexibly to traction requirements at any time.
In cities and conurbations, the issue of environmental pollution is becoming increasingly important. Vectron Dual Mode makes an important contribution to sustainable freight transportation. The locomotives are currently used by MKB, Captrain, SETG and Northrail/Paribus. DB Cargo has ordered 146 Vectron Dual Mode trains specifically to make transport more sustainable from 2023.
