From 1981 to 1987, DB procured 1,285 Sgjkkmmss 699 container wagons from Talbot and O&K, 235 of which were approved for 120 km/h. In 1989-91, DB prepared a further 100 or so wagons for higher speeds. In 1993, the Kombiwaggon received all Sgjkkmms as private wagons, which were returned to DB AG in 1995. The container wagons were still in use at DB Cargo well into the 2000s.
