Description
Based on the EW1 standard wagons with bellows and an ABDe4/8 type driver’s cab, six Bt driving trailers were delivered to BLS by Schweizerische Waggonfabrik Schlieren (SWS) in 1963.
In 1970, 3 more of these driving trailers were delivered to BLS on the basis of the modernized EW1 with rubber bead and extended car body.
The driving trailers were used in commuter trains, among other things.
From 2005, four converted driving trailers with the new numbers BDt 946-949 were in service with car trains and the modernized Bt 951-953 were used in the shuttle trains with external swing doors.
