From 2018, Hectorrail Germany acquired a total of six DE2700 series diesel locomotives, which had become redundant after being withdrawn from passenger services on the Hamburg-Altona – Westerland(Sylt) line. The locomotives were and are used throughout Germany in freight service, but primarily in tank car service in the Nossen area in Saxony, where they are often used in double traction.
The frame and body of the model are made of die-cast zinc, the roof attachment is made of plastic. The paintwork and printing correspond exactly to the original. Reproduction of a multitude of details. Close coupler link with NEM coupler pocket. Spring-loaded buffers. Headlights and marker lights that change with the direction of travel, can be controlled digitally. Drive on all six axles (alternating current version: on all axles of a bogie), two wheels fitted with traction tires. Built-in ESU locomotive pilot for digital and analog operation. Sound version: ESU-LokSound 5 with sound capsule and true-to-original locomotive sound from a new recording from February 2022, exclusively for ASM.
