Description
Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupé
LEGRAND 1:87 plastic model, very detailed design and printing, blue interior, filigree rims, length: 50mm.
One of the spiritual fathers of the “Uhlenhaut Coupe” and the 300 SLR Roadster racing versions (W196S) was the head of the testing and racing department, Rudolf Uhlenhaut. The “Uhlenhaut Coupé” named after him (there are only 2 versions worldwide) also differs from the “normal” 300 SL (W 198) in its even more dynamic body shape. Mercedes-Benz auctioned the original vehicle with the red interior (No.008/55) at the Mercedes-Benz Museum / Stuttgart in May 2022 in a spectacular auction for the record price of 135 million euros to establish the “Mercedes-Benz Fund”. This makes it the most expensive vehicle in automotive history!
