The MB O 302 was a universal bus and was available in many configurations. As a city bus, intercity coach or touring coach. The O 302 replaced the popular O 321 H when it was launched in 1965. The O 302 remained in the program for ten years until it was replaced by the O 303 in 1974. For the 1974 Football World Cup in the Federal Republic of Germany, Daimler-Benz provided each national team with an O 302 coach with exteriors painted in the respective national colors.
