Description
The Nightjet 408 between Leipzig and Zurich is one of the most interesting night trains currently running through Europe. On the one hand, the train consists of wagons from four railroad companies, namely ÖBB, SBB, CD and RDC, and on the other hand, there are two trains that are combined to form a Nightjet in Leipzig. Pulled by a class 101 electric locomotive, the first train section consisting of SBB and ÖBB coaches arrives from Berlin as IC60409. Almost at the same time, the second train section consisting of RDC and CD coaches pulled by a class 193 arrives from Prague as EC 459. The Czech EuroCity is split and the couchette and sleeper coaches are shunted to the ÖBB/SBB wagon fleet waiting on the adjacent track. At 23:46, the Nightjet 408 departs for Zurich as scheduled.
