Description
Between 2003 and 2005, 42 sleeping cars of the type WLABmz 173.1, known as Comfortline, were delivered to Deutsche Bahn. The bogies of type SGP 400 allow a maximum speed of 200 km/h. Three of the twelve three-bed compartments are equipped with their own bathroom, and the compartments can be connected in pairs to form a suite. This type replaced all earlier German sleeping car designs. Ceské dráhy procured twelve almost identical WLABmz 826s between 2006 and 2007, which originally bore the names of UNESCO World Heritage cities in the Czech Republic. With the introduction of the Najbrt design, the sleeping cars gradually lost their dark blue color scheme with the distinctive city silhouettes.
