The class 120 electric locomotive is regarded as the world’s first series-produced three-phase locomotive in the high-performance range and is a milestone in the development of electric locomotives. The 120 was mainly used by Deutsche Bahn in the high-quality InterCity service. Shortly before their retirement in July 2020, some locomotives earned their bread of mercy in regional transport. One machine is currently still being used by WRS for freight transport.
