From 2012, NIAG leased one of the DE2700 series diesel locomotives in use on the Nord-Ostsee-Bahn for freight service. The prototype of our model was given the operating number “10” and could be found in this area of operation throughout the Rhine-Ruhr region until 2017. The paintwork and lettering were left as they were, only the locomotive number and the NIAG web address were applied to the locomotive.
The frame and housing of the model are made of die-cast zinc, the roof attachment is made of plastic. The paintwork and printing correspond exactly to the original. Reproduction of a multitude of details. Close coupler link with NEM coupler pocket. Spring-loaded buffers. Headlights and marker lights that change with the direction of travel, can be controlled digitally. Drive on all six axles (alternating current version: on all axles of a bogie), two wheels fitted with traction tires. Built-in ESU locomotive pilot for digital and analog operation. Sound version: ESU-LokSound 5 with sound capsule and true-to-original locomotive sound from a new recording from February 2022, exclusively for ASM.

Model features:
DE2700 from NIAG, locomotive 10, DCC sound AC version (ESU Loksound 5), automatic analog/digital operating mode recognition. Locomotive body made of die-cast zinc, roof attachment made of plastic. Finest reproduction of all details. Roof side ventilation grilles modified to match the prototype compared to the original ME26 version. Alternating peak/tail lighting, digitally switchable. Digitally switchable spotlights in the upper light box. Drive via five-pole motor on all six axles. ESU locomotive sound decoder with various prototype sound effects installed. Sound recordings exclusively for ASM on the original locomotive.
