D 912 “Emsland” is the successor to the City D train DC 912, which was discontinued in 1978. At the same time, the train route was extended from Emden to Norddeich. The D-train Emsland was made up of four 2nd class coaches (Büm232 and Büm234), as well as a first class Am202 coach. At the end of the seventies, these were a colorful mix and wore everything from green to ocean blue/beige to the pop colors from the color palette of the Deutsche Bundesbahn.
