In 1934, the Deutsche Reichsbahn ordered four C-coupled locomotives from AEG and three from BBC/Kraus Maffei. After delivery, the locomotives were stationed in Munich and Stuttgart. At DB, the locomotives ran in Augsburg, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Munich and Stuttgart.
