Description
The 1995 timetable change marked the birth of the Donau-Kurier night train, then still known as EN222/223, but already made up entirely of CityNightline wagons. Two years later, the train route was slightly adapted, the wagon fleet lengthened and the train number changed to CNL 212/213. The Danube Courier from Dortmund to Vienna stopped en route in Essen, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Bonn, Mainz, Frankfurt/Main, Mannheim, Salzburg and Linz. The Donau-Kurier was usually hauled by class 101 electric locomotives.
