Description
In 1951, Otto Kässbohrer developed one of the first buses with a self-supporting, inherently stable and sufficiently torsion-resistant body.
This design made it possible to dispense with a base frame (chassis).
While other designers of buses with a self-supporting design had not yet achieved a breakthrough at this time, the design
of the Setra S 8 became the cornerstone of Kässbohrer’s later success with the Setra bus brand.
